The example above tells us that it will select one enemy squad at random within the effective range. The target specifies how many enemy squads will be affected when the skill is triggered. The range has usually a value between and including 2 and 5. If you place it in the third row, it will always hit the first row of the enemy formation. If you place the hero into the second row, it will hit one of the first two rows of the enemy formation. This skills has a range of 3 and it means the following: if you place the hero in the first row, it will hit one of the three squads of the enemy formation. Let’s look at the picture above as an example to understand it better. If the range is smaller than your distance to the enemy squads, the skill will deal no damage at all. The range is by far the most important aspect of an attack skill you need to consider when deciding where to place your hero.
All these three are very important when you’re designing your APC formations. However, for the formations, we only consider their attack skills – skills that deal direct damage.Įach attack skill shares certain attributes: (1) range, (2) target and (3) probability of being triggered. Each hero has skills, different types of skills.
Row 1 is the closest to the enemy, while row 3 is the farthest. These rows can also be thought of as distances.
